Michele’s Rescue is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. To begin the adoption process for Michele’s Rescue you are required to fill out our adoption application for pre-approval. All form fields are required and by submitting you are stating that all information is true. Adoption of all animals will require the completion of a final legally binding contract.
WE DO NOT ALLOW OUTDOOR CATS. IF YOU CURRENTLY OWN OUTDOOR CATS OR INTEND ON ADOPTING A CAT FOR AN INDOOR/OUTDOOR OR OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.

Minimum requirements for adoption:
- ALL adopters must reside in the state of Michigan
- All animals in your home (previous animals included) must be spayed / neutered, up to date on CORE required vaccines as well as being on heartworm prevention. Flea and tick prevention are highly recommended.
- Home ownership: All adopters must provide proof of home ownership (property tax statement, mortgage statement, deed etc.). Those who do not own their own home will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Apartments: Most dogs are NOT candidates for apartment living and thus will rarely be approved.
- Mobile Home Parks: Dogs will not be approved for individuals residing in a mobile home park. We recognize that you own your home and can provide proof if the park is pet friendly, but often they are purchased by other corporations and can change the rules with very little notice to the residents. In addition, many parks have breed specific rules and while we cannot confirm a breed without a DNA test, should park management DEEM the dog is of a specific breed, they can force residents to choose between moving or rehoming their family member.
- Owned condominiums: Proof of Home Owners Association rules and regulations regarding pets are required and may not be approved or appropriate for every dog.
Fenced in yards are not required across the board but some dogs will require a physical fence, and it will say in their profile.
